Halyk Bank Wins EMEA Finance Achievement Award 2024 as the Best financial institution syndicated loan in CEE for its Landmark US$300mn Syndicated Loan

Halyk Bank has been recognized by EMEA Finance as a winner in the Syndicated Loans in CEE category of the 17th Annual Achievement Awards, for its successful execution of a US$300 million syndicated term loan, signed on 16 September 2024. The recognition celebrates the Bank’s highly successful syndicated term loan transaction in CEE region.

The award is presented by EMEA Finance — internationally recognized financial publication that highlights outstanding performance across the banking and capital markets industry in emerging Europe, Middle East, and Africa. Nominated by leading financial institutions and their clients, and chosen by the EMEA Finance editorial team, the winning deals demonstrate excellence in execution, trust, and forward-thinking financial structuring.

The facility marked the Bank’s first return to the international syndicated loan market since 2008. Initially launched at US$200 million, the transaction was upsized due to strong demand and supported by 12 banks across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

This recognition not only highlights Halyk Bank’s continued leadership in Kazakhstan’s financial sector but also represents a landmark transaction for the country, paved the way for broader access to international capital markets for Kazakhstan’s financial institutions.
