Mr Dunayev is a graduate of Kazakh State University named after S. Kirov with a degree in political economy and holds a PhD from Moscow State University named after M. Lomonosov

Mr Dunayev experience in Kazakhstan„s government includes such posts as first deputy minister of finance, minister of finance and chairman of the Agency for Regulation and Supervision of the Financial Market and Financial Organisations. He has also held managerial positions in the quasi-government sector. He is currently a member of the boards of directors of several Halyk Bank subsidiaries
