Current Roles
Umut Shayakhmetova has chaired the Management Board of Halyk Bank since 22 January 2009. She joined the Board of Directors in April 2009 and was re-elected in May 2023
Previous Executive Positions
Before leading Halyk Bank, she chaired the management board of ABN AMRO Asset Management and served as deputy chair of ABN AMRO Bank Kazakhstan. In November 2004, she became deputy chair of the Halyk Bank Management Board
From May 2011 to February 2021, Shayakhmetova was president of the Gymnastics Federation of Kazakhstan. In June 2015, she became chair of the Regional Council of Businesswomen under the Chamber of Entrepreneurs in Almaty. A year later, she was appointed chair of the Financial Sector Committee of the Presidium of the Atameken National Chamber of Entrepreneurs, and chair of the Regional Council for Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Russia and the Caucasus at UnionPay International
